DATA GATHERING

Each member of the group asked their friends and classmates if they knew anyone who lived in Valencia, Bukidnon, which is the proposed business’s initial target market. Members/researchers developed questions based on the empathy map, which were then used in the interview. As of this week, no more than 50 people residing in Valencia, Bukidnon had been interviewed in order to collect data and information for the business proposal and to evaluate and validate if it passes market validation.

INTERVIEW

Since the majority of the members/researchers are not from Valencia, Bukidnon, the interview was conducted via messenger chat and video call. The interviewees were instructed to use any language they preferred in order to feel more at ease and to be more interactive during the interview. The majority of the interviewees were very engaged and answered the questions quickly, but some took a little longer. All of the questions that were created were asked, and there are some follow-up questions to clarify unsure answers and to inquire about their openness to online shopping.

MARKET VALIDATION

The goal of this proposed business idea is to provide ways and options for individuals, particularly shoppers/buyers, to still buy the things they urgently needed or simply wanted without encountering various difficulties in purchasing. They only need to order through the app and their orders will be delivered quickly. In this current situation, it is very difficult, tiring, time consuming, and risky to personally shop in the markets due to the fact that there are so many protocols to follow aside from exposing yourself to the public and risking infection with COVID-19. This is intended to provide people with comfort.

However, after conducting market validation interviews, we discovered that people still prefer to buy their items in person, regardless of any problems they may encounter. However, based on the interview, they are still open to online shopping and consider having someone shop for them and simply wait for their orders in cases where they are too busy or too tired to go outside. They are also influenced to try new things and discover new things by their friends, family, and social media. Based on these facts, we can conclude that this business proposal has a good chance of being known, used, and successful. By how they answer the question that they are very open for online shopping and given that currently seems everybody is busy with their own lives. Yes, there is too much risk but that is the essence of business, to take risks and learn from it.
